Upper Georgia Avenue Retail Analysis presentation, ANC 4a05/07 vacancies and census

1) If you are interested in the current or future businesses along our part of Georgia Avenue, I would encourage you to join this call on Wednesday. If you'd like to know more about the UGA Main Street this is also the call for you. If you'd like to find a way to volunteer or donate close to home, this just might for you too!  The Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street will host an online presentation of the recently completed Retail Analysis of Upper Georgia Avenue - from Missouri Avenue to Eastern Avenue. This survey was completed by Jon Stover & Associates, a local firm dedicated to building a stronger community of small businesses throughout the city. The survey was was funded by a grant from the Department of Small and Local Business Development. Wednesday, August 5 at 7pm Location: Zoom For more information and to register, please follow this link: https://bit.ly/GARetail I hope you will join us on the 5th to learn about current conditions for retail on Georgia Avenue and the efforts that we can undertake to strengthen the corridor.  Paul Ruppert, Executive Director, Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street, uppergeorgiaave.com 2) We still have two vacant positions on the ballot for the Brightwood part of ANC 4A! Parts of Luzon Ave, many 1500 blocks and everyone east of 16th St currently has NO ONE running to be their ANC Commissioner. All you need to do is file your candidacy documents today, collect 10 signatures from your neighbors and turn it in by August 5. More info here the process here: https://www.dcboe.org/Candidates/Candidate-Ballot-Access-Information and about ANC 4A here: http://anc4a.org/ 3) Please, please fill out your 2020 census and get your neighbors to do the same. Brightwood is an awesome neighborhood with great residents but we are NOT getting our fair share of resources if we don't fill out the census. Brightwood's response rate is one of the lowest among our surrounding neighborhoods but it's one of the easiest ways to ensure that we get the Federal and local resources we need. Please, please fill out the census for you and your household and ask a neighbor to do the same. Do it right here: https://2020census.gov/ Thank you so much. Be safe and stay bright!
